11 point home win against a directional school is not the Gator standard.

I don’t think your math is any type of standard.

It was actually an 11 point win, but I get your point and agree. Only 3 points scored in the second half was a bit of a let down after the first half where we were moving the ball. At least we saw some improvement in almost every facet of the game after the bye week, which I think was the first time I can ever say that since this staff "army" arrived. Coaching, clock management, and in game decisions also seemed to be mostly improved. With that said, I'm confident there is more ugliness ahead and I still think Napier needs to take a long walk on a short pier. Last night was better, but I still came away with a sttong feeling of don't be fooled. UCF is decent, but that showing ain't gonna cut it against the premium teams. The next few weeks will be a better test. Let's look at things again in a few weeks, like after the Kentucky game. I think it is going to be a much different story.

So now if we can find a way to give Napier bye weeks before every game we will get a single half of competitive football.

That being said - maybe best half of football we've seen any from any Napier team, so credit given where it's due. It was a lot of fun to watch that first and second quarter and that first drive felt absolutely surgical.

Edited. Still not celebrating another failed season from Napier.

So we had tough practices and the result was tough play. What a novel idea. But then you let them lose their fire at halftime. Great job.

Yea this win bought him till the next bye. I think if he loses next two he's gone then, if he splits them they may let him stay for the year, but after UGA and texas would be a good time as wel because I can't see ANY scenario where they legit let him coach against ole miss. Just a bad look for all.

They did a lot of player and unit competition stuff and the loser(s) had to run suicides. I can tell you this was the first time all year there has been any accountability or responsibility punishment during practice.

This made all the difference. Amazing what competitiveness & accountability will do. This is a lesson napier learned too late

If he had started with this we probably win 2 more games each of first two seasons and he his seat would be slightly warm not scorching hot

The offensive line and defensive lines were noticeably improved like night and day. We still struggle to set the edge though. But with these improvements, I’m afraid Napier learned a little too late

Pretty amazing that it took this coach three years to actually make his teams practice tough. Napier is inherently a soft, mute guy and his teams take on his personality.

It was suggested to naps to do this by a former coach

Why not tough practices in August? Or one day a week during the season? This guy is not a top caliber coach, nowhere near it.

They said they had them during August. As for one a week? How tough? There. Is a balance line here. This is why open weeks are so important. Glad UF took advantage of it.

Thanks for correcting me on that. My apologies, I am a single parent of 3 little kids so tuff for me sometimes to keep all the game details straight with everything going on. Anyways, even worse that we were unable to score for the entire second half. Pathetic. For some reason, I thought we threw a field goal up there in the beginning of second half. Wrong.

That's a good point about the Ole Miss game. Had not considered that, bad look, etc.
