I broke The U I don't think it's good. not amazing, not good, not meh, but more of an ew. I like that they tried to be creative with the show and not repeat what they've done already with the movie, although I would've preferred that they would've after seeing this. This shows feels like filler. it just feels like cut-out parts from another Scott anime or a scrapped Scott show. Also the characters just don't feel interesting, the show just drags on and on, waiting for that glimmer of hope that you'll see even a single second of Scott again. because there's barely any Scott, and that makes the show pretty bad already. I also feel the 'Fake Death' thing was so generic for such a franchise. You could basically just watch episodes 1,2,7, and 8 and you'd basically have the whole show in a nutshell, last point I wanna make is the humor is not that great, it gives the occasional heh. or he. but no like BAHHHAH.anyways, I don't recommend it, just watch the movie. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/04/24 Full Review Nicholas E The animated series was a complete failure, they had the opportunity to take an arcade life action series and turn it into something great. They instead turned it into absolute garbage, which failed in most aspects except for the animation. There was nothing wrong the animation but everything wrong with the writing, directing, and overall direction of the show. I have no clue what they were going for other than being completely incomptetnt in following the original series. Is this a prequel, sequel, or in between? No clue because they lacked any intention outside of bull crap and subpar writing. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/22/24 Full Review Silas R I feel like this series was made to inspire nerds to chase the girl of their dreams. There just isnt much substance in this; it feels like its all aesthetic. I have a hard time believing the main characters are genuinely in love. It just feels like a lazy story to me, and theres nothing believable about their relationship; it feels rushed with no development. It really just lacks emotional depth for a love story, and the action was just boring and nonsensical. However, there are a few funny bits, and I can see why this would appeal to a certain crowd. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/11/24 Full Review Sean H Just watch the movie, the acting and pacing of the show is awful. It feels like everyone mailed in their performances. All of the comedy has been sucked out of it. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/09/24 Full Review Jay R Watched all of the Scott Pilgrim anime yesterday and I enjoyed it.The story wasn't at all what I was expecting. It's kinda a pseudo sequel to the comic, which I regret not rereading before watching this new show. But I feel like this is what I would expect if the Scott Pilgrim comic got an anime spin off. And they absolutely killed it with the animation, especially all the fight sequences which I loved.I only had a few issues with the show. Some of the returning actors were pretty bad with their voice acting performances, which is a bummer but makes sense. Also I was disappointed that the music wasn't nearly as good as the movie's soundtrack. And a lot of the jokes were hit or miss, unlike the movie which I still will laugh at a ton upon rewatch. In the end, I still liked it a lot. But I definitely like the movie the most. Although I think I liked this a bit more than the comic simply because it looks incredible. I kinda wanna reread the comics, play the game, and rewatch the movie before I watch the anime again. I'd probably appreciate the anime more that way.I would still recommend giving it a watch, but only if you've already watched the movies and read the comics. And I'm just happy we got more Scott Pilgrim content because I really like the universe and characters. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/24 Full Review Audience Member Scott Pilgrim doesn't come off too well in the beginning. You go on a date alone isolated in the woods? maybe things have changed but I would not be comfortable with doing that as a first date. It also seems like people dislike him and I'll trust their opinions, but I guess I'm still rooting for him. The whole show just strikes me as a movie/combat/dating sim combo video game. Why is everyone actors? I feel like I would appreciate this more if I knew more about other Scott pilgrim IP's, but I shouldn't have to enjoy this. However, I did watch the whole thing, which must say something. However, I would not watch a second season or the other movies.
